Analysis of the Quality of Bottled Drinking Water Products through a Six Sigma Approach and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)

PT XYZ is a company engaged in Bottled Drinking Water (AMDK) with the brand "Santri" and has been operating since 1997. The raw materials used come from Umbulan spring located Mulyorejo hamlet, Pasuruan regency, East Java which famous for its clarity. results of interview company, currently not implemented quality control methods. Currently AMDK products maximized, this shown by number defective that are greater than established standards. Products packaging size 240 ml highest percentage defects. To overcome problem, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) approach Six Sigma able to reduce defects also FMEA method. Calculation method, there an increase Level after improvement. Meanwhile, analysis using method found RPN value decreased recommendations were implemented. This can be seen at stage smaller Analyze stage, thus showing success corrective actions have taken.
